Money and Psychoanalysis Symposium
Pulsion Psychoanalytic Institute presents a day-long symposium exploring the clinical and cultural dimensions of money in psychoanalytic practice and theory. The relationship between money and the unconscious has preoccupied analysts since Freud. Fee structures, gift economies, the symbolic weight of payment and debt, and the ways money circulates in the analytic relationship all bear on the work of interpretation. This symposium brings together clinicians, theorists, and scholars to examine money not as a practical detail but as a nodal point where desire, law, and social structure intersect.
Format
The symposium will include three plenary presentations followed by discussion, with a break for lunch. Attendees are invited to participate in the afternoon Q&A. Seating is limited; advance registration is required. For registration and inquiries, please contact the institute office.
